I went on a trip to Mexico City in February during spring break and on that trip I just so happened to pick up a few items from a store called Bershka. I’ve never shopped at a Bershka store in NYC, but I have purchased clothes from their line through the third party stores.
I came across these “balloon Fit” jeans and I just had to buy them. I paid a reasonable price for them too. There was a sale happening at the time and I was able to get a few items for less than $100, score! If you’re interested in shopping this brand online, they have a 50% off summer sale happening now, so go check them out and let me know if you see any good finds. 😉
As I mentioned in my last post , when I think of summer I think of bright colors and funky patterns and I always result to light weight materials or textures that give off summer vibes. Hence the bright striped shirt to be paired with my denim balloon jeans.
I purchased my blouse from a black woman owned, reworked thrifted shop called Washingtonave. You can find lots of beautiful reworked designs and vintage finds in this south made boutique. Each piece is unique. Once you purchase from this boutique, you won’t find anyone else selling or wearing your items. Thats what I love about them.
This blouse is lightweight and it has a pleated texture to it. Not only does the pleats give it character, but the pops of color and stripes adds to it as well. I also love the way the cuff of the sleeves hang when unbuttoned and as you can see they are long and falls to the knuckles on my hands. This top is in a size XS and it fits me perfectly.
Therefore, I felt it perfect to pair this top with my light blue Ballon fit jeans. The “ballon” fit is a trendy jean right now. I was unsure if they would look flattering on me because I am a slim gal. This fit jean gives a minimizing wide leg silhouette. They come with a thin denim belt attached and large back pockets with two simple pleated details in front. I tucked my shirt into the pants to show the detailed waist and belt, it’s super cute! Don’t you think?
Next, I added some soft pink laced, square, block heeled sandals that I purchased from H&M. By the way, if you are a member with H&M, they are giving 15% off everything, NOW! Thank me later :). These sandals are cute and comfortable too! I rolled up the bottoms of my jeans to let the lace of the sandal do a little “peek – a – boo” thing when I walk. Like I said before, it’s the little things that brings your fit to the next level.
To accessorize this fit, I went for a bold yellow fedora that I purchased from Amazon. If you’re looking for one yourself, you can purchase it from my amazon store linked here. They have many different colors. I added a black bamboo handbag (can’t remember where from) to add to the details of my fit and some transparent yellow sunnies from ZeroUV.
Each piece of this fit, is bold and unique and can be worn in either spring or summer seasons. How do you feel about this look? would you wear it or suggest someone to pull off this look as well? Let me know in the comments below.
